Family Fun

Chris had today off for the July 4th holiday, and we used the day with daddy for fun! We started off by going to see "Toy Story 3". It was a cute movie and we all enjoyed it.

After that we came home for grilled cheese sandwiches. I went to buy some red jewlery to wear to church tomorrow with my blue dress, while Chris and the kids relaxed at home. After that we decided to head out on an adventure. We didn't know where we were going, and ended up at the State Capital! It was a fun impromtu adventure!

Here are the kids in front of it! I love the fence with the stars on it!
Aubrey enjoyed standing on the star in the middle of the rotunda, looking up at the star on the ceiling and spinning around.

Here Chris is explaining the picture of the surrender of Santa Anna to Camden. I am sure you all know that the Battle of San Jacinto occured on April 21st, 1836. April 21st also happens to be Chris' birthday :)
And we can't forget Davy Crockett!
Here is a reinactment of......"FIRE" After this we were all hungry. We went to Magnolia cafe for some delicious pancakes and some fantastic omlettes. Then we drove around Westlake looking at some beautiful houses.
We finally made it back home and baked some cookies for the neighbors. It was a fun filled day! Now we can't wait to celebrate the 4th tomorrow. On the agenda is church, the Round Rock parade and watching fireworks. I'm sure we will have another adventure!

  1. That is one packed day! Looks like you all had a great day. It is so nice when daddy is home to have fun with! Have a wonderful 4th! Hopefully you all will be able to see fireworks.

No firework for us this year and poor Ashlyn is sooo disappointed! Canada Day (the Canadian patriotic holiday) was on Thursday, but since it stays light outside until 11 PM, fireworks are out (well, at least for us)!
